Thursday, June 18, 2009 (Rain or Shine) 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.Come out to Como Zoo and watch the orangutans start their summer reading program! Be sure to stop by the Summer Reading Information tent to pick up your Reading Record and information about summer reading-related activities and programs going on at the 103 metro public libraries all summer. The first 1,000 kids (ages K-6) to get their Reading Records at this event will receive a free copy of "Read Anything Good Lately?" to get them started on their summer reading goals.
Other fun kick-off events include performances by popular summer reading performers Bill the Juggler and Dazzlin' Dave the Yoyo Master, the library trivia wheel and other games, and music courtesy of Radio Disney. The Radio Disney Dancers will also be on hand to wow attendees with lively dance numbers. Click HERE for more details.
